Good news on pending state legislation.
S.B. 1013 AHCCCS; Ambulance Services was held in the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, June 9. This means that the bill was not debated in Committee and a vote was not taken. We will continue to work to stop this bill from moving forward.
S.B. 1197 related to the establishment of a task force on seclusion and restraing in schools did make it out of the Senate Committee on Education Accountability and Reform on Wednesday, June 10. ACDL Board member Gretchen Jacobs testified for ACDL in favor of the bill. ACDL will continue to push for the establishment of a task force and for laws and regulations which will reduce seclusion and restraint in schools and mandate reporting to parents.
